Kids’ Country @ Sacrewell Outreach Workshops

Made possible with funding from the East of England Agricultural Society.

Bringing hands-on learning to your classroom

Can’t come to the farm? Let us bring the farm to you!

From September, Kids’ Country @ Sacrewell will be bringing engaging, curriculum-linked workshops directly into schools and educational settings. From seasonal food and butter making to wildlife exploration, each workshop is designed to inspire curiosity and help children connect with food, farming and the natural world.

Each workshop lasts approximately 45 minutes and is packed with interactive activities, giving every child the chance to learn through doing.

Choose from our outreach workshops below:

🥕 Seasonal Fruit & Vegetables

Discover where our food comes from by exploring seasonal fruit and vegetables.

Children will explore what is growing throughout the year, learn about seasonal produce and make either a fresh salad or warming soup using a selection of seasonal ingredients. They’ll also plant their own pea seed to take away and continue growing at home.

🧈 Butter Making

Discover how cream is transformed into delicious homemade butter.

Children will discover how cream is transformed into butter before making their own by hand. Once it’s ready, they’ll have the opportunity to taste their freshly made butter.

🌾 Fantastic Flour

From grain to freshly baked scones.

Children will discover how wheat is grown before milling their own flour using a tabletop electric mill. They’ll then use their freshly milled flour to make delicious scones while discovering the journey from field to food, inspired by Sacrewell’s historic 18th-century watermill.

🐞 Wildlife & their Habitats

Discover the fascinating world of wildlife.

Children will investigate mini beasts and their habitats through bug hunting before creating their own bug hotel to take home, helping wildlife long after the workshop has finished.
