Sacrewell scarecrow competition
Fancy helping us fill Sacrewell Farm with spooky and spectacular scarecrows this October?
We’re inviting individuals, families, schools, nurseries, community groups, Guides, Scouts, clubs and local businesses to get creative and build their very own scarecrow to join our October display at Sacrewell.
Whether yours is spooky, silly, traditional, colourful or completely out of the ordinary, we’d love to see what you come up with!
Get creative
There are no limits to your theme or design, so have fun and let your imagination run wild.
Your scarecrow could be a classic straw-filled farmer, a friendly Halloween character, a favourite storybook creation or something completely unique.
All we ask is that your scarecrow is:
- Child-friendly and suitable for a family attraction
- Safe and securely constructed
- Weatherproof and suitable for outdoor display
- Strong enough to remain on display throughout October
- Clearly labelled with the name of the individual, family, school, group or business that created it

Win a 2027 Family Annual Pass!🏆
During our Halloween event, visitors and Sacrewell staff will have the chance to vote for their favourite scarecrows.
Voting will take place from Saturday 24th to Saturday 31st October, with the 10 scarecrows receiving the most votes going through to our final judging.
Our overall winner will then be selected based on originality, creativity and overall impact.

🥈 Runners-up: FREE family entry to our 2026 Christmas event
The winners will be announced in early November.

How to enter
Create your scarecrow at home, school, work or with your group and bring your finished creation along to Sacrewell no later than Friday 23rd October.
Please make sure your scarecrow is labelled with your name or organisation/group name and contact details, so we know who to contact if you win.
Once delivered, we’ll find your scarecrow a home around the farm ready to become part of our October display.
There’s no charge to enter the competition, so start raiding the wardrobe, gather your straw and get creative!
We can’t wait to see Sacrewell filled with your creations this October. 🌾🎃👻
T&Cs
- Entry is free
- Drop off at reception from now until Friday 23 October between 9am and 4pm
- Entries must be suitable for outdoor display (we don’t advise stuffing with newspaper)
- Sacrewell Farm reserves the right to remove any entry deemed inappropriate or unsafe
- Scarecrows will of disposed of after October
- The winner will receive a 2027 Family Annual Pass (2 adults 2 children)
- The judges decision is final
