Working with Business

The historic site, farm buildings and activities at Sacrewell Heritage Farm and Country Centre provide a unique and creative environment for business partners. Volunteering, corporate team building, sponsorship of special events, providing skills and materials, enables companies to make a real difference to this charity and the community it serves.  Your company’s commitment to the William Scott Abbott Trust and Sacrewell means the Trust can continue the task of conservation, preservation, education and the development of Sacrewell Heriatge Farm for community benefit.

Business Support

The Trust has ongoing refurbishment projects running across the site, in the grounds or buildings, often made possible thanks to generous support and donations of time or materials from local businesses. All donations, from tins of paint to tree surgery or construction – contribute to the improvement of the farm for all to enjoy, with lasting benefits.

Training

Could your company donate some management consultation time, offer skills training or professional development for our staff or volunteers?

Sponsorship

Could your company sponsor one of our events from theatre to concerts, Harvest festival or family days by contributing to printing costs or materials?

Equipment

Perhaps you could donate gardening tools or equipment?

The Rural Development Programme for England (RDPE)

The Rural Development Programme for England (RDPE) is funded by Defra and the EU. The European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD): Europe investing in rural areas

The William Scott Abbott Trust at Sacrewell Farm and Country Centre have received almost £23,000 of LEADER grant funding, secured by Opportunity Peterborough to support rural business growth.

The funding has been used to improve the facilities in Sacrewell Farmhouse and to provide opportunities for local people to learn traditional skills such as beekeeping and blacksmithing.

The improvements to our facilities will open the door to a variety of new skills workshops for our local community.

LEADER grants aim to boost the rural economy, from supporting tourism and small business growth to aiding the development of agriculture, farm diversification and forestry.

In rural Peterborough and Rutland, the £1.3 million funding programme is being delivered by Opportunity Peterborough with support from Rutland County Council.
