“I volunteer to help to make a difference and to make new friends.
“There is plenty of variety of jobs and you can acquire new skills.”
Neil Hoffmann, volunteer at Sacrewell.

Dig in and muck out at Sacrewell as part of our team of volunteers.

As a charitable trust, we rely heavily on volunteers to keep the site and the animals looking their best all year round.

Whether you’re a gardener looking for a new project, a handyman with time on your hands or a budding historian with a thirst for living history, there may be the perfect voluntary role to suit you.

Sacrewell is also proud to work with a number of special needs schools and organisations as a community outreach centre, giving people with all kinds of disabilities the opportunity to work with us.

In the past, our volunteers have been involved in projects such as the regeneration of the mill garden, the successful running of our events, looking after our horses and ensuring that our 18th century working watermill is running properly.

With the exciting £1.7m Heritage Lottery Fund Watermill Project now underway, we are recruiting even more people to join the team and work both with the public and behind the scenes.

If you’re interested in joining our workforce, please keep an eye on our vacancies page for openings.
