A basket it so versatile, serving as a fruit bowl, bread basket, table centrepiece and plant holder, to name just a few uses.

Our experienced tutor from Nene Coppicing and Crafts will take you through the basic principles of the ancient craft of willow weaving. You’ll produce a useful, shallow, two-handled basket.

Our Willow Weaving: Basket Making workshop will run from 10:00 till 16:30 on Saturday 10th August. There are just 6 spaces available on this small group course, which costs £70 per person.

What’s included?

  • materials and tools to create your own willow basket
  • instruction in techniques for weaving sides and making borders

  • admission to Sacrewell for the day for the ticket holder

This workshop is suitable for anyone aged 16 or above. Under 18s must be accompanied by a paying adult.

The Nene Coppicing and Crafts workshop at Sacrewell is situated approximately 75m from our main entrance and has an uneven, cobbled floor. We may be able to offer a parking space closer to the workshop; please contact us by email if this is something you require.
