Thanks, from us

Dear Sacrewellingtons,

We wanted to write and thank you all for your overwhelming support of Sacrewell and the William Scott Abbott Trust on Saturday, at our first ever open day.

The response was astounding-we had just under 4,000 visitors over six hours. Some of you we had met before and were delighted to see again, others were new to the centre and we hope you were impressed. Just from chatting to a few of you while giving out samples in the shop, we spoke to people who had lived in Peterborough for more than 30 years and never visited Sacrewell. People of all ages and from all walks of life visited us on Saturday, and we couldn’t be happier.

The weather was very kind to us and that made a huge difference. We were pleased to see you all using our new finger post signs to find your way around and exploring “off the beaten track”. We had some brilliant feedback for the watermill project as well, and Jane was merrily taking details of people who are interested in volunteering over the course of the project.

Thank you all for your patience and understanding when it came to parking and queuing for the Playbarn and cafe-it made all the difference to us.

We hope the event has inspired you all to visit us again for our events and to see the mill project once it is completed, and we look forward to seeing more of you in the near future.

The Sacrewell team
